Kingdom Come Deliverance I&II.- raw and authentic storytelling,
- award-worthy cinematic cutscenes,
- vast realistic lands to explore,
- unforgiving difficulty level,
- a beautifully told coming-of-age tale, dealing with themes of loss, vengeance, friendship and love.
Merlin.
- stellar first season, unintentionally very queer,
- a vibrant array of characters and their brilliant actors,
- yet another coming-of-age story, about fighting against a self-fulfilling prophecy and losing your innocence along the way,
- the relationship between Merlin and Arthur which makes me want to rip my hair out.
The Earthsea trilogy.
- decentered European middle ages from the fantasy genre,
- possibly invented the specialised schools of magic as we know them today,
- deals with the difficult theme of death and the fear of it with so much grace,
- not afraid of giving its main character flaws that make you hate him at times, but that only makes him feel more human.
Disco Elysium.
- absolutely unique atmosphere,
- clever sociopolitical commentary,
- makes you experience nostalgia for people who never existed and events that never took place,
- eccentric characters who feel almost tangible,
- elements of the paranormal which should feel out of place but don't.
